Amphenol, the world's second-largest connector manufacturer, has announced the completion of its $2.3 billion acquisition of Carlson Interconnect. A leading supplier of high-speed backplane connectors, Carlson Interconnect's products are widely used in data centers and communication base stations.
This strategic acquisition will significantly enhance Amphenol's technical capabilities and market share in the high-speed connectivity sector. Industry analysts believe that with the accelerating construction of AI data centers, the high-speed backplane connector market is poised for a sustained growth cycle. Following the acquisition, Amphenol's market share in the high-speed connector segment is expected to rise to the top three in the industry.
"Carlson Interconnect's technology team and product portfolio are highly complementary to Amphenol's existing business. This acquisition will enable us to better serve our global data center customers," said the CEO of Amphenol.
